Visiting Lake Chelan, Washington

If you are a great destination to travel, do not overlook beautiful Lake Chelan in North Central Washington State. Lake Chelan is a beautiful 55-mile long lake that cuts in the beautiful North Cascade Mountains. Fishing, boating and water sports of all kinds are plentiful on Lake Chelan like sunbathing on the shore in the hot summer months. If outdoor recreation is an interest from you then Lake Chelan a great place to go.

Sitting at the bottom endthe cities of Chelan and Manson, these communities combine aspects of a resort with the charm of a simple little village. You'll find some chain restaurants and motels in Chelan, which means you need to regulate "for outstanding meals in locally owned establishments. Many motels and condominiums overlooking the famous lake, but summer will be better made hotel reservations early. A popular attraction for young and old Chelan is surrounded by orchards, how much of the North CentralWashington region. During the harvest is months fresh fruit, both plentiful and delicious fruit, thanks to the roadside stands that appear out of nowhere. For the youngsters, there are miniature golf, bowling, a petting zoo, a water and parks. There is also the possibility of casino-style entertainment from the Casino in Manson.

The lake is divided into upper and lower basin. The lower basin is home to most of the recreational sailing and jet-ski enthusiasts, and the upper lakemainly as a waterway, get some of the many boat-in-only or hike-in campgrounds, the only point on the coast. Imagine a quiet camping trip to find a campsite, only sailors and hikers could get reached.

At the upper end of Lake Chelan sits the remote village of Stehekin. The Stehekin area itself has about 20-30 miles of road but none of them connect to the outside world. That's right, the only way to make a much needed visit to Stehekin is byBoat, seaplane, or hiking in the forest paths. Stehekin has a calling card-operated telephone and not much more for the modern luxury. There are about 75 throughout the year accounted for most of the pensioners, forest workers, teachers in the one-room schoolhouse and small business owners. The easiest way to Stehekin is by boat. Daily boat trips from Chelan, running 55 miles down the lake to Stehekin and may place it on the boat company (this is also posted, as the StehekinResidents receive their food and other necessities of life). The boat service is also at other places on the lake, like the small community of Holden Village and the occasional point of departure. Once in Stehekin, you can choose to spend in the cozy inn or camp in one of the local campgrounds. Within a short drive / hike is Rainbow Falls, that, though, is a wonderful view at any time of year, truly majestic in the spring and early summer. It is much more to explore in this rustic littleHamlet cut off from the world, enough for outdoor enthusiasts and history lovers alike.

Hiking trails head off in many different directions from the shores of Lake Chelan area so that a thorough exploration of the beautiful North Central Washington. Chelan itself has a number of golf courses and wineries there is enough to take the adults, as well. When the winter hits, the rest do not stop when the skiers to take snowboarding and snowmobilingabove.

Beautiful Lake Chelan in North Central Washington has no problem year after year, many fine entertaining visitors. There are so many events and activities offered, not only this city but the entire North Central Washingon area, it is a shame for the whole family would be missed great memories.
